Busy, busy, busy....

I am a bad blogger. Please forgive me. The family and I have been on a family vacation (pictures to come) and I have been knitting. A lot. Seriously.

I finished my jaywalker socks. Sorry, no picture yet. The LYS just started carrying the Cascade "Sassy Stripes" yarn that I used so I took the socks there today. I let them keep the socks there to display with the yarn. Someone told me the looked "professional". What a compliment! If only she saw the horrible scarf I have in my closet that grandma taught me knitting on when I was 8.

I have been working on the "Amber" tank in the picture below.
It's from Rowan's Summer Tweed book. I'm using the $3.00/hank Summer Tweed my sister scored me in Montana last winter. Thanks sissy! I might even finish it before the weather cools off.

I'm also working on a pair of cabled socks from this book:

I'm using the yarn I bought from Blue Moon Fiber Arts. It's called "Rolling Stone".
I love it so much, if I weren't married, I would marry it :)

I have also been taking knitting machine lessons. I inherited my grandmother's old knitting machine. I needed help finding the manual and love it. I won't give up knitting with sticks, but this will help me make cardigans. I just can't imagine myself sitting down and doing this:

knit, knit, knit, knit, knit, knit, knit....

You get the idea. I would be nuttier than I already am.

Hope to have the new pictures up. I have less than one month before school starts up again and it would be nice to show you one finished sock, one finished tank, and a partially made cardigan (maybe all pieces waiting to be knit together, we can all dream).

The horrible thing I made when I was 8?!?

I may just make you wait until I return to knitting group. It's much more to laugh at in person. I thought the colors were FANTASTIC when I was little. (She types while shaking her head.)
