I was unable to find a suitable button in my stash so off I went to the LYS yarn store. I found a beautiful wooden button and knew it was a winner. This evening, we had my parents over for dinner. Before breaking out the deck of cards, I HAD to finish the cowl. (School starts again tomorrow and I was hoping to have it ready to wear for the first day back.)
Below is the finished product. I love it. It's the new scarf. I'm seeing a lot of these types of things in my future if my classroom is as cold as I think it will be.

Busy Making Stuff
I've been making the most of my last few days of Winter break. So far, I'm 1/4 way done re-knitting a shawl (I'll explain when I'm finished knitting it) & I've finished my Spiral Cowl and Thorpe hat. The first is for me, the second is for a friend of mine.
Pattern: Spiral Cowl
Yarn: Blue Moon Fiber Arts, 24 Karat
Needles: size 6 circs.
Note: I still need to find a button and add it along with a crochet loop to the cowl so I can wear it closer to my neck. I'll post more pictures once that's done. I'm hoping to find one in my stash.
Pattern: Thorpe
Yarn: Lamb's Pride Deep Charcoal Heather & Wool of the Andes Blue Bonnett
Needles: Size 8 DPN & Circulars
Hook: Size G
