The entire sweater FINISHED!
This was quite the project. I found it on knitty. It's one of my favorite websites. I started it right before my mom, sister, niece, and nephew came for a visit in April. May was when I set it down due to the endless amount of straight stitches it calls for once the cabling is done. I decided to give it another go once school got out challenging myself to finish before moving back to NE. Needless to say, I got done. I used a washable wool and wound up having TONS of leftover. Enough to make a hat or mittens. Who knows. This pattern is wonderful if you want to adapt your own cable pattern, etc. Believe it or not, I actually made this for MYSELF. I am in shock as well.

Wow, you finished your first cabled sweater! That's no small feat! It looks fabulous. I really liked this pattern since the first time I saw it. I'm thinking of maybe making it with my brown Jo Sharp yarn. Maybe. But before I do, I'm curious to know how it fits. Is it more like a jacket? Is it fitted like a sweater? Would you use it just as a cover up or wear it as a top? Inquiring minds want to know! (Are you oppossed to modeling it?)
It fits a bit more like a jacket. I would wear a shirt under it. It looks nice open or closed. I made the arms a bit longer but don't know if I would do it again that way. I used Wool-ease when I made it and the same size needles they called for. When I originally checked for guage, it was dead on. For some reason, I don't think I was quite right. I wound up making a size L when I measured the waist cable. I would base my sizing on that. It seemed to be quite accurate and I like the way it fits. I'll take a pic and e-mail to you. You know how I feel about modeling.
No I could not find the "boo-boo". But then you're talking to someone who purposely ignores "goofs".
Is that why you don't talk to dad much? HA!
