I've Been Tagged

Checking my e-mail this evening, I noticed that I have been tagged. We all know my thoughts on chain letters, etc. I don't forward chains and am probably cursed for eleventy million years. That said, I won't actually tag anyone, but would love for you to tell me if you decide to 'get tagged'.

I was tagged by Neeley Notes and asked to list 10 weird things about me. My problem is how can I narrow it down? Here goes:

  1. I can make one eye cross at a time (left or right, I'm an equal opportunity eye crosser).
  2. I knit a womb for a friend who needed a laugh. I made the cadillac version and included a squeaker for added effect.
  3. I love Guitar Hero (80's version of course!)
  4. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE to knit.
  5. I teach kindergarten (not so much me being weird, but they can say some pretty weird things)
  6. My son thinks I'm completely normal.
  7. A fun evening with my hubby is when we are in charge of the score clock and book at wrestling tournaments.
  8. I have a cat named "Bonkers"
  9. I have a dog named after my hubby's favorite beer.
  10. I think everything about me is completely normal (considering I don't know the definition of the word).
So, tag, you're it...but only if you want to be, no pressure.

Oh Honestly!

Seriously, what year would I have had to been born in to actually enjoy this era? I could be my grandmother!

You Belong in 1958

You're fun loving, romantic, and more than a little innocent. See you at the drive in!

What did I just say?

I had to call several members of my family recently. I can't believe I said it. It's something I wasn't prepared to say to my 5 year-old son. It just came out.... Are you ready? Are you sitting down? You'd better...

Here goes.....

"Don't put Play-Doh in the toaster, again."

I wasn't mad. He told me he was trying to dry it out faster. I completely understand. It makes total sense. He's pretty clever in fact. I just can't believe it did it! I called my hubby who is in D.C. at the moment to tell him it ranks up there with the time he was two and put plastic spoons in the VCR. I'm so proud.

On a side note....Did you know that white toasted Play-Doh resembles a toasted marshmallow? Seriously, it does.

It pays to respond to tags...

Ok, I was tagged and put the previous post online as a result but required zero participation (didn't want to seem pushy). Well, my OC tendencies have finally paid off people! My dad read the post, noticed I liked his cinnamon bread and is making me 2 LOAVES! Honestly, this is turning out to be a great day.

On another note, did I mention to anyone that I like cash and fabulous yarn as well? Just curious...

Don't worry, it won't bite

This is a snake that my brother-in-law wanted me to make for my future niece. Secretly, I think he's the one that really wanted it. I hope he likes it. Sorry about the background, I just really wanted to post it as soon as I could. I figured the excitement of it all would put lil' sis into labor. (tee-hee)

Gifts for my niece

The below items are for my soon-to-be niece. My sister loves (and I mean LOVES) toys from our youth. I found these 'babies' at the local antique mall. How sad that I'm finding toys from my youth at an ANTIQUE mall. I really don't think I'm antique....yet.
my three purchases
jingly rolley-bell sounding thingy
out of focus telephone WITH eye movement (Youth readers, if you are confused as to what that big round thing is on top of the phone, it's part of what was once called a 'rotary phone'. Sorry kiddos, no text messaging here.)
Sesame Street record player. There are supposed to be five records. I could only find four. One of the green I'm thinking should be yellow and there is a missing blue. I guess she'll have to learn to live with disappointment. Sorry kiddo, I did my best.

Kitty Fabric

My Aunt Judi won some fabric and thought I might like it. She was right. Definitely different that what I would purchase, but I think it will be fun to work with it. I'm always up for a challenge. The fabrics on the right are what Judi sent me. The fabrics on the left are what I purchased to accompany them. The top three fabrics were purchased at Joann Fabric and Crafts and the bottom two fat quarters were purchased at the Cosmic Cow, my new FAVORITE fabric shop. (Incidently, Cosmic Cow is also the name of the cartoon character Henry Rush created in the television show "All in the Family". Just a bit of trivia.)

New Fabrics

In the past two days, I have been to four fabric stores. I have really been drawn to browns, greens, and salmons lately. Surprisingly, I'm impressed with how well they go together. You've gotta love blended families!Purchased at Joann Fabric & Crafts.
Purchased at The Quilted Kitty.
Purchased at The Calico House.
One big happy family
I'm not sure if I like the purples mixed in the group. I'll have to think about that one.
